Kenya Airways is Kenya’s flag carrier airline and it promotes itself as ‘The pride of Africa’. The airline’s hub is in Nairobi, at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, which is Africa’s 6th busiest airport. The Kenyan government launched Kenya Airways in 1977 in response to the dissolution of East African Airways Corporation in the same year. Kenya Airways operates a fleet of 37 aircraft. Their fleet consists of Boeing 787-8, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-700, Boeing 737-300F and Embraer E190 aircraft.
The airline has added a new destination to its network and will now fly to Cape Town South Africa. There will be three weekly flights between Nairobi and Cape Town beginning July 2016. It will be the second city in South Africa after Johannesburg and will be linked to Livingstone in Zambia, the gateway to Victoria Falls. The flight will depart Nairobi at 07h20, arriving in Livingstone at 09h30am, departing Livingstone 10h20 to arrive Cape Town at 13h25. Return flight will take off from Cape Town International Airport at 14h15, arrive Livingstone at 17h10 and depart Livingstone at 18h00 and touchdown Nairobi 22h00. The service will operate on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
