Thai Airways is the national carrier of Thailand, with its main hub operating out of Suyarnabhumi Airport. Thai Airways is a founding member of the Star Alliance network and has its head office based in Chatuchak, Bangkok. The airline also operates one of the longest non-stop commercial flights, one of them being the 18 hour non-stop flight from Bangkok to Los Angeles.
Thai Airlines has won many prestigious awards in its lifetime. Skytrax awarded the airline 'World's Best Cabin Staff and the Best Airline in the World' in 2006. In 2007, it was awarded second place for the 'Airline of the Year'. The first class lounge at Suyarnabhumi Airport was also awarded 'World's Best First Class Lounge' in 2009.Thai Airways has also received an award for excellence in hygiene measures from the World Health Organisation.

For international flights, Thai Airways recommend you arrive at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight. Flights close 30 minutes before departure. For domestic flights, Thai Airways recommend you arrive at the airport at least 1 hour before your flight.

The carry-on baggage allowance is 2 pieces per traveller. The maximum dimensions are 62 linear inches/157 cm (length + width + height.) The maximum luggage weight for passengers in all classes is 32 kg. There are some exceptions to the above information, depending on your destination and originating city. Carry-on baggage that exceeds the weight or linear restrictions will be charged additional fees.
