South African Airways special baggage can be carried free of charge as part of your free checked baggage allowance. If the total number of bags exceeds the maximum weight then you will need to pay extra bag charges.

South African Airways does allow travelling with pets. Pets will be carried in the aircraft hold. Only service dogs can be carried in the passenger cabin. Service dogs are carried free of charge.
