Location

Perth is gently located in the south west region of Western Australia, based around the stunning Swan River. During the summer months (November - April) temperatures usually near 30° C (86° F), but can reach a scorching 40° C (104° F) on some days. A common occurrence during the hot summer months is the arrival of the much anticipated 'Fremantle Doctor', a cooling and refreshing breeze that enters the city in the afternoons. The Fremantle Doctor's arrival is a welcome one, with many locals enjoying its cooling effect on the sometimes unbearable heat. The best time to visit Perth is during the spring (September-November), and the autumn months (March-May). Spring is the most beautiful as the famous wildflowers around Kings Park and Avon Valley start to bloom, welcoming the new season after the winter rains.
